Wilton Cake Class II

Kelly Kagele, the Splinter to my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, recently taught another Wilton cake decorating class. This second class focused primarily on flower-making, though the lesson that I will be taking away from this is that short-cuts are no bueno. Beating the icing for 5 minutes is so not the same as beating it for 10 minutes. I should know; I have the soggy flowers to prove it.

But, lesson learned... moving on...

Here is the cake that resulted:

The front view.

And one from behind.

Unfortunately, just because the class ended does not mean the life lessons stopped also. On the way home, the heat in the trunk of my car caused my cake to spontaneously combust. That or it committed suicide from being too cute. I like to think it was the latter.
