Where Has The Time Gone?

Well hello there, stranger! Let me re-introduce myself... I'm Beth of babycakes, and that there in the corner with that shameful look on her face is my webmaster, Wilette. I won't even begin to tell you why it's been months since my last update...

So anyway, way the heeeeeck back in June, I made a cake for my wonderful web gal, Wilette, for her 30th birthday. Actually, the cake was made in my Wilton Cake Class (taught once more by the fabulous Kelly Kagele *finger snaps*), but since Wilette's birthday was just around the corner, I figured it would do double-duty.

Here's the front. The flowers were made beforehand and were seriously time consuming!

Wilette turned the big 3-0, but I realized too late that I didn't have a zero candle. But never fear for my middle name is McGuyver!


The birthday girl loved the cake, especially the marshmallow fondant that I made from an internet recipe. I sent the top part of the cake home with her and, I swear, she ate the entire thing by herself. I'm not sure if I'm impressed or grossed out.


The second cake I'd like to share is a recent one for my friend Jen's husband's promotion. Not much to say about this one except, maybe, congrats!



Finally, I saved the best for last...

July 4th not only marked the celebration of our nation's independence, but also marked my baby girl's first birthday. Yes, FIRST BIRTHDAY! Can you believe that?

So we threw her a themed party and I made this cake:

But, wait! No first birthday party is complete without the mash cake!



And here she is finally digging in and enjoying the sweet mess...
